Chase Brannan, a native son of North Central Florida, was educated in Baker County public schools and worked on the family farm, raising cattle for livestock shows and the market. He was also active in the Future Farmers of America, obtaining the highest degree in the organization, the American Farmer Degree. Chase comes from a family of public servants – his grandfather served as a state trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol and at the local sheriff’s office as a deputy, his father has 30+ years in law enforcement with the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Baker County Sheriff’s Office, his mother was a longtime educator and elementary school principal before her passing in 2007, and his stepmother is a career prosecutor and former county judge. Chase is proud to have a strong foundation and continue his family’s legacy of public service.
Chase earned an Associate of Arts from Florida Gateway College, where he served as Student Body Senate President and worked in the college’s Entertainment Department, assisting with shows and concerts at the college. He transferred to the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Agricultural Education and Communication with a minor in Sales and Management in Agribusiness. While at UF, Chase was elected to serve in student government as a senator on the Budget Committee, overseeing a $22 million budget that ensured the student union hall, libraries, and recreational gyms stayed open for all students at all hours. He was recognized as a J. Wayne Reitz Scholar for his leadership and achievements at the university. Chase was tapped into Florida Blue Key at the University of Florida after such service and became its secretary. After his Florida Blue Key service, he received the Sharon Connell Outstanding Service Award. Upon graduation, Chase was nominated for the Emelie L. Matthews Award of Excellence, which is awarded to an outstanding senior transfer student in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
While pursuing his master’s degree, Chase was selected as a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow for the 2020-2021 term. He was stationed at the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) during the COVID-19 pandemic. During his time at DBPR, he worked to save Florida businesses from being shuttered permanently. Chase worked to re-open Florida as a business-friendly state and helped save our community from the pitfalls of California, Illinois, and New York. After his term, Chase received the Governor’s Fellowship Award for Outstanding Leadership and was selected to serve in Washington, D.C., for the Executive Office of Governor Ron DeSantis, working on federal relations. Following his time in DC, Chase worked on Ron DeSantis’ re-election gubernatorial campaign as a Regional Field Director and was among the earliest hires on the re-election campaign. Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis hired Chase to join his re-election campaign as his Political Director later that same year. Chase oversaw the CFO’s political schedule and logistics and advocated on the CFO’s behalf at functions. In 2022, CFO Patronis hired Chase as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, helping manage office priorities and constituent issues. Chase dedicated himself to fighting for lower insurance premiums, returning citizens’ money/assets due to unclaimed property, ensuring the state’s money is well managed, and combating insurance/contractor fraud.
